Thanksgiving 2011

I was sooooo excited to get to host Thanksgiving this year.  It was the first time we had ever hosted it for my family.  Sis, Jesse and Adeline got to stay for 8 days and Dado and Nonna were here for a couple of days.  We got very sad news a few days before everyone was scheduled to arrive.  My sweet, fun, loving Uncle Don passed away.  None of us wanted to miss the funeral so the original plan was for everyone to fly into Tulsa and then me, sis, Dad and Susie would head to Illinois for the funeral.  That was until Sis started having major contractions the night before they arrived and the entire plane ride here.  We were worried she would go into early labor in the middle of nowhere Illinois so we decided to stay back.

While they were at the funeral we got all the yummy cooking done. Michael did the turkey in the electric smoker and it was SO GOOD! We just love a good southern Thanksgiving meal. The kids loved spending time with Dado and Nonna and even though they didn't get to stay as long as we originally planned, it was so nice to spend some time with them. I tear up watching the kids play with them! It's always so hard when they have to leave.

Clark got the lights on the house before they got here.
