Toddler For Sale...

Ok, I'm totally kidding! I love my little boy to pieces!

Raising a boy has presented many new challenges that we haven't faced with Olivia. Olivia has always been a very busy child but Grayson is busy + fearless + adventurous + a little destructive. I learned a couple of lessons this week. Don't ever take your eyes off of him, not even to brush your teeth!

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:
Yes, that's sharpie. No, I haven't figured out a way to get it out.
Lesson number 2. Never give the kids a bath by yourself again. Michael had softball practice and I decided to bathe the kids while he was gone. After getting Gray washed up, I was washing washing Liv's hair and Grayson decides to hike his leg over the bathtub and take off streaking down the hallway. "That's strange" I thought, "I guess he's done." Nope, 2 seconds later he comes running back into the bathroom, slips on the tile and falls his his bottom, laughs then gets up and dives back into the bathtub. I'm still wondering why he did that but continue to wash Olivia. Once again, he streaks out of the bathroom and this incient repeats (including the fall followed by the "eh-huh" laugh and my subsequent rise in blood pressure all over again) as the "dives" back into the tub and then tries to repeat this incident for a third time, I hold him by his arm so that he cannot get out but this renders me incapable of rinsing Olivia's hair so then I had to get him out, dress him and cage him in his crib so he cannot make the running streak into the bathroom again. I survived this bathing and was incredibly confused by his antics until the next day when we let them swim in their little pool. The following video explains the bathtub incident completely. He now thinks this is how he should react in any body of water!
Note that the pool only has a couple of inches of water in it. That's because earlier in the week Michael let them swim with the pool filled almost to the top. Grayson dove into the pool repeatedly and his face would go completely underwater. Michael would pull him out, he would spit out the water he'd inhaled, laugh and repeat his diving routine. Michael said this stressed him out so much that he finally just ended the swim time and dumped out the pool.
He's fearless. I'm scared.

First Dance Recital

Olivia has been dancing for a year now and last weekend was her first dance recital. Dado came to town and we had a great weekend with him. Olivia did a great job at her recital! She's not the least bit shy and really shook her stuff!

Baby Adeline

We recently got to go visit our newest niece Miss Adeline Grace Skiffington in Tacoma, WA. She is the prettiest baby girl I have ever seen!

We had a wonderful time. On Sunday we visited Aunt Sissy Uncle Jesse's church. I sure do love my church but it is pretty cool to sit in service with a full view of the water on one side of the sanctuary! After church it was a warm (Seattle warm anyway) day and we decided to make a trip down to the beach. Olivia was a little hesitant to get her hands dirty and she did not like the seaweed washing up to shore. Grayson, on the other hand, literally ran into the water and started splashing. There was no turning back for him and he got completely filthy but had the best time!
